Wealth & Legacy Planning
“I opened Kelley Legacy Law with the idea of bringing back the Personal Family Lawyer relationship – where initial estate planning is just the beginning of the relationship. We’re focused on implementing a plan we know will work for you and the people you love.”
– Michael Kelley
Traditional estate planning only focuses on transferring your financial assets and personal belongings to your loved ones. Legacy Estate Planning is much more than a set of documents. Yes, a legacy plan includes your will, trust, power of attorney, advance health directive, etc., but creating an accurate legacy plan is about also capturing and transferring your valuable, intangible gifts:
Who you are and what is important to you
Once your plan is complete, you will feel confident you have captured all of your tangible and intangible assets, assuring your loved ones are not burdened with determining the division of assets.
We make sure your hard-earned assets and insurance policies are owned and managed in the correct way so you feel comfortable that everything you have to pass along has been accounted.
What are your dreams for your loved ones? What stories and accomplishments do you wish to pass along? We provide a platform to encourage and share your wisdom. Your legacy is more than your financial gift. The life you lead and lessons you learned along the way will enrich your loved ones beyond measure.
We create a guardianship plan that not only outlines permanent guardianship, but also protects your minors during any transition periods. We will keep your children out of the care of the state, or anyone that you would not want raising them. We make sure your children are never with someone that is not pre-approved.
Through complex asset management, we keep your loved ones out of court and free from conflict.
Not long ago I read a poem called “The Dash” written by Linda Ellis. The “dash” refers to the one that comes between the year of our birth and the year of our death. It represents what occurred during our time on earth.
“The Dash” is about considering how we lived that dash instead of how long we lived.
In addition to passing along your financial assets, Legacy Planning gives you the opportunity to pass along your “dash.” What are your values, accomplishments, hopes, and dreams for your loved ones? You have a story to tell, wisdom to share, and the opportunity to encourage the ones your treasure the most.
